Butternut Box Conveyor Work

Sector: Food & Drink

Customer's issue:
Butternut Box first contacted us as they were having some serious issues with their conveyor. The main issue was that the product was getting stuck on the transfer plate. Which, in turn meant that the product was not transferring to the stainless steel, freezer infeed conveyor. The design team visited the factory to establish the issue, measure the conveyor and create some concepts. The best concept for speed and minimum downtime was to redesign and manufacture a new main centre plate, bed plates and end plates. The idea behind this was to move the rollers positioned at the discharge end of the conveyor closer to the steel conveyor. This was to make sure the product transferred directly from one conveyor to the other without the need for the transfer plate and minimise wastage.

The creation/production process:

The Projects team, working with the sales team went to site to see the issue in person, measure the equipment and think up some new concepts. Once this was completed and approved, our On-Site Services team installed the new parts to ensure that the conveyor was back in full working order.

The lead time from enquiry to completion:

From the site visit to the installation of the plates was within 1 week! This was key to ensure as minimal downtime as possible therefore saving costs too. The client was extremely happy.
